New Country. New Home. New Job.

So here I am in sunny Auckland, New Zealand. The land of Hobbits, sheep and Kiwi's*.

I took the leap, bought the tickets, and survived the flight over. After months of deliberation and vague planning, this English girl decided to venture forth and explore the land of her forefathers (except that it was my mum who was born here, not my dad... nor her dad... can I still say forefathers?) Anywho, I took the plunge and left the comfort of sweet England.

For a young woman of 22 who's left home, graduated from University and caught a London night bus, you might be thinking what's the big deal? You moved to the other side of the world. So what?

So what?! I left my dear sisters, my treasured collection of Oliver Jeffers books and Ella's Bakehouse behind. Inside this 22 year old is an 8 year old girl screaming for her Mummy and a bedtime story. But it's all good, I have an awesome new job and part of that job means getting to know Auckland. Something I am really looking forward to.

So whether you're a Kiwi interested in what us brits think of you, a fellow traveller looking for someone to share opinions with, or you're a loving member of my family eagerly awaiting news on my travels**, keep reading my friends. Let me enlighten you.

Until next time... x x x

*Not that I've seen one yet... apparently they like to play hide and seek and they're really good.
**You know you miss me, and I'm bound to forget things in my letters!
